Catching up on more relevant news, Cisco is leaving their load-balancer product, ACE (Application Control Engine). My primary exposure to load-balancers – now referred to as ADCs (application delivery controllers) – has been the ACE and its predecessor CSS. There are tons of other product out there which I guess Cisco felt they couldn’t compete with, or at least compete dominantly. Apparently Cisco’s own sales staff do not even recommend it for UCS installations.
