‘Progress isn’t made by early risers. It’s made by lazy men trying to find easier ways to do something.’ Robert Heinlein (1907 – 1988)
I heard Peter Taylor, author of The Lazy Project Manager (which I don’t see on Amazon yet) and the site thelazyprojectmanager.net, and PMO director at Siemens PLM Software, interviewed on the PM-Podcast episode 123.
He says too many PMs view their projects like Python’s Miss Anne Elk’s theory on brontosauruses… “All brontosauruses are thin at one end, much, much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end.”
He says projects should be thick at the beginning and end, but thin in the middle… Put the effort in setting up a project right (i.e., planning). Amen.
