SOW: Introduction

All documents need an introduction to level-set the reader on purpose, intent, context, and audience. The SOW introduction may also identify parties to the SOW, such as customers, service providers, vendors, and stakeholders; background material on the project; and high-level business objectives the project is trying to accomplish.

This section should also reference any overlapping entities, such as a program charter or master services agreement. Particularly in the case where the SOW defines work between two legal entities, it should reference a legal document describing the relationship.
