PMI has announced the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)SM, their first Agile certification.
PMI began surveying its constituents in 2008 about their use of Agile. They then created a steering committee of Agile thought leaders to investigate what PMI might do for Agile practitioners. The steering committee included a co-creator of the Agile Manifesto and other Agile experts.
To take the exam, one needs to have 1500 hours in agile projects and 21 hours in formal agile education. PMI has had a community of practice for agile for a while, but this is their first formal Agile certification.
Cornelius Fitchner of the PM Podcast interviewed Rory McCorkle, a PMI production manager, about the new cert in Episode 203: Overview of the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Certification.
