Computer programmers have gone the way of the typing pool. So have one-dimensional technology specialists like network engineers.

Please, this is why they are called “trade rags”. I learned my lesson back in the early 90s when they predicted ATM would put traditional network engineers out of work. Now, ATM is only a place where you get cash.
